Herbert Käfer spent more than 20 years at a bank. He is now starting a fresh career in an exciting position as a business analyst at UNiQUARE. Herbert’s experience is as an application owner in the credit sector. He brings extensive, relevant expertise in the IT and banking sectors. In his free time, Herbert enjoys time with his family, riding his motorcycle, and he is the captain of an ice hockey team.

1. Your last position before UNiQUARE ?
Application Owner of credit applications and associated systems in an Austrian bank.

2. Describe yourself in 3 words…
Honest, open, constructive.

3. First thing I do at the office…
I fill up my water jug, otherwise it doesn’t happen all day.

4. How do you spend your free time? (hobbies, sport, balance to work)
Ice hockey, motorcycling, hiking. I reward myself by extreme couching.

5. What must always be in your wardrobe?
A well-fitting suit and very many jackets.

6. What is your favorite place?
Either at Lago del Predil near Tarvisio or in the Radovica-Bay at Cape Kamenjak.

7. Without which technical device couldn’t you live?
GPS: my orientation is hopeless.

8. What career advice would you give to young people?
Job satisfaction depends on what you do and who you work with, not on your salary.

9. Do you have a life motto?
Happy wife, happy life.

10. What long-term wish have you fulfilled?
As a child, I dreamt of being a motorcycle policeman: I bought a motorbike.

11. Your childhood hero/heroine…
Batman.

12.What excites me…
The NHL, the MotoGP and really good food (as long as I don’t have to prepare it myself).

13. What is at the top of your private to-do list?
I would like to learn to play the piano and guitar, but that has been on my list for so long that it is hardly legible.

14. Morning lark or early bird?
Let’s put it this way: there must be something wrong with people who are in a good mood in the early morning.
