This poses new challenges for everyone involved, especially the pupils. The teaching content is conveyed digitally and the children and adolescents are given a lot of personal responsibility when learning. The situation is particularly difficult for those who do not have an adequate ICT infrastructure at home.””We are therefore particularly pleased that together with the Carinthian Economic Promotion Fund (KWF) we have succeeded in gaining another sponsor, AfB social and green IT, who provide notebooks for schoolchildren free of charge. Otherwise the lack of these devices would create major disadvantages in homeschooling”” – said education officer Governor Peter Kaiser and education director Robert Klinglmair. This way, pupils can use the donated devices not only now, but also in the future for their further education. This was an important mark in the fight for equal opportunities. This donation is also in the spirit of sustainability. The donated devices come from AfB social and green IT, a non-profit IT company that specializes in taking out retired IT hardware from large corporations and public institutions. They prepare the hardware and conduct a certified deletion of existing data and then resell the devices with a guarantee of at least one year. This brings the products into the hands of new users. As part of the social project, the KWF is responsible for contacting the Carinthian companies as well as organization and logistics. The distribution of the devices takes place via the education directorate. With their small and large donations, some of which also included new devices, a large number of companies made an important contribution to the educational future of children in Carinthia: UNiQUARE Software Development GmbH, Goerner Packaging GmbH, KELAG-Kärntner Elektrizitäts-Aktiengesellschaft, Tribotecc GmbH, Flowserve, EWP Infra GmbH and many more.Enquiries: Office of Governor KaiserEditorial staff: Germann/Schäfer/Rodiga-LaöŸnig/BöhmPhotos: Education Directorate Carinthia
